Transfer and share photos and other large files

Post by NikonWeb »

Sending many and/or big files via e-mail is a less than perfect solution. For years, I've been a happy user of http://www.yousendit.com, which makes it really simple to send files up to 100 MB (free) or 2 GB (paid). The file is stored on their server (for a limited time) and the recipient simply receives an email with a download link.

Lately, I've started using (or rather play with) http://www.dropbox.com and http://www.sugarsync.com.

Both services offers 2GB of free storage, and makes it really simple to upload and share your photos and other files (you can also use them for regular storage, off-site backups, etc).

You can even access all your files using dedicated smartphone apps (I'm using an iPhone, not sure which other phones are supported). Needless to say, there are paid plans if you need more space. Both dropbox and sugarsync are very nice, but so far I prefer dropbox, for its no-nonsense simplicity.

One more thing - if you want to try out dropbox, please feel free use this link, which will add some additional free space to my own account ;-)
