This may be common knowledge, but for future reference: It's been a while since I played around with the old DCS cameras, and I cannot even remember how I last opened the raw files. In my DCS 420 article from 2005 (!) I mentioned "The Kodak DCS 420c will only record 1610 kilobyte TIFF files (that cannot be read by Photoshop without a special Kodak plug-in that can be downloaded for free)".
Twenty (!) years later, and much to my surprise, Adobe Camera Raw (i.e., Photoshop, Bridge, and probably also Lightroom) can open DCS files from the DCS 420 (.tif), DCS 720x (.dcr), and probably most of the old Kodak DCS cameras without any further ado. Woohoo!
Current system: macOS Sequoia 15.3.2, Adobe Photoshop 2025.

Re: Processing old DCS files - 2025 edition
Yes, incredible but yes, not too long ago i took the NC2000e for a ride and Lightroom read the files as if it were from my D750 or any other camera, same applies to the files of the Finepix S2 pro.
