"Nikon: A Celebration" book features QV1000/E2/E3
In case anyone hasn't seen it-the excellent new book by Brian Long, "Nikon: A Celebration", features (admittedly only a little bit) about a page or so on the QV1000, E2 & E3 series cameras, along with a few pictures.
This large hardback book is worth buying for the general history of Nikon (unfortunately it only barely mentions the Kodak DCS models)
Try your local camera shop or it is available here http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Celebration ... F8&s=books

I think £120 is a fair price. Please post the serial number when you get it.precertvideo wrote:Don't really now the value of these things, but don't think i overpaid (assuming it works...Will let you know)
It's not perfect, but I agree that Brian Long's "Nikon - A Celebration" is well worth it's price. If nothing else, it's one of the prettiest Nikon books I've seen. A nice overview of Nikon's history. Highly recommended.
Thanks,
Jarle

Arrived today-condition is average-a bit grubby, with a few small fractures in the plastic (esp. around shutter release)-Just trying to figure out how it works!
Most surprising thing? The size/bulk of it-much bigger than I was expecting!
I'll put it on the other post, but ser. no. 5400006-it also has a barcode label on the back door like this:
DISC
barcode
DISC019357
This mean anything to anyone? I assume it's from someones inventory.

Yes, it's a big camera. Sorry to hear about its less than perfect condition. Just noticed that this exact unit was also sold on eBay earlier this year. Apparently, it wasn't quite what the buyer wanted..precertvideo wrote:ser. no. 5400006-it also has a barcode label on the back door like this:
I agree that the barcode sounds like an inventory label.

Image quality is really quite good-probably better than my DCS-420. There is pronounced vignetting with Tamron 28mm adaptall (widest lens I've got to fit a Nikon) but with everything else it is just fine-very pleased with it.
It (& Kodak DCS cameras) are great conversation starters when you're walking around Salisbury Cathedral amongst the tourists & their miniature pont&shoots-10 years later & they're still pro-cameras.
