Original DCS-got one at last

Post by precertvideo »

Lucky no one else wanted this! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

Worth £100 for the F3 :D

It is very good condition with correct focusing screen, sadly just the camera body-no DSU. The serial number sticker has been pulled off the digital back-do you think it will be inside as well?

Wow! £100! What a deal! Congratulations!

(Post to UK only - a decision which probably cost the seller a lot of money..)

If I remember correctly, there's no serial number sticker on the inside. Any more details about the origin of this particular unit? I got mine from the UK as well. Some of the documentation that came with my kit indicates that it was previously owned by the Royal Air Force.

For future reference, here's the auction description: "This was the first commercially available digital SLR camera being released back in 1992. The system used the fantastic Nikon F3 SLR body as the basis of the camera, replacing the 35mm film with a 1.3 megapixel CCD that delivered 1280x1024 colour photos. Images were stored onto a separate DSU (Digital Storage Unit. This unit has been used but appears to be in good condition. I do not have the DSU or anything other than the camera itself and as such i am unable to verify whether it is fully operational. These cameras are very rare indeed. Local inspection, testing, collection invited."

Hi, I did ask the seller after the auction if he knew anything about it, or to let me know if he finds the rest of the kit, but no answer yet.

I'm contemplating selling my own DCS kit, complete with working DSU, cables, original case and all. But I'd need to get a price that would buy me a Leica M9 (..can you tell I'm obsessed with this stupid German camera?!)
