The D1 manual states that the charger from the E3 can be used to recharge the EN-4, so I suspect that the MH-16 should work. Both packs are 7.2v. The 4-pin plug (may) be for the discharge-recycle feature? I will be looking for an E3, most do not have chargers and I suspect I can make one if the MH-1...

Nikon F4 DIGITAL camera flew on the Space Shuttle in '91
Now you stirred up memories. I do not know where this converted Nikon F4 is now, I suspect in a NASA or Smithsonian Museum. Some of the Engineers in the Naval Research Lab's Space Systems Division worked on the system. I got to hold it (way back when). It was close to the size of the DCS200, which a...

I suppose that you guys are going to try to convince me that Nikon did not come out with the MF-20 as a Film back for the DCS200! What I find amazing about the DCS series is how well the digital back integrates with the camera body. All important information regarding exposure, ISO settings, and sta...

DCS4xx Multipurpose Connector
Courtesy of Kodak in response to a recent Email to them, and dug out deep from their archives I am sure. This is the Pinout for the Multipurpose 7-pin DIN connector on the DCS420, DCS410, and DCS460 camera. I was able to charge the batteries using a 14v (DC) 0.75AMP charger with this diagram. http:/...

I bought Nikon D1x's for work when they first came out and bought a like-new in-the-box D1 for home just last month, about 1/10th of its original price. The D70 just feels like a toy and the 2.75MPixels is fine for an 8x10. The other Nikons that I use on a regular basis include the F2AS, SP, S3, and...

Pictures with the DCS420c, DCS200IR, and D1
Some pictures with three of the cameras mentioned here. Using the DCS200ir requires some work, the DCS420c is "way-easier", and the Nikon D1 is a world apart. BUT looking at some of the macro-shots taken hand-held at 1/30th and 1/60th, I am starting to believe that spinning disks gyro-stab...
