Hi,
Dang.
OK, I submit. I bid on the silly thing. It has 11 hours to go......

Hi, NAS? What's that? Nikon Acqusition Syndrome? ;) Sounds bad. like there's no cure for it. I think I might be catching it. I'm trying to fight it off, though. Here's how it goes: I've been contemplating bidding on that E3s/565 with the missing shutter button and on/off switch. :) Now, I can't say ...

Hi, Now, keep in mind that I'm looking at the pix of the thing on eBay, so that might be misleading. However, it looks to me like the switches themselves are still in place and just the plastic actuation parts are missing. It also looks like those plastic parts just snap into place. I looked at my E...

Fuji DS-565 / Nikon E3s on eBay ends 2005/06/26
Hi, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43456&item=7526806819&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Here's one missing the shutter button. While I can't be 100% sure, I'll bet that the part is still available (and used on other products). Has battery, and we know that the E3 packs ...

Re: SAGE
SAGE was quite the system... I've researched that system as a side-trip into early man-machine interface protocol/ user input. If I recall, they used light-activated "guns" (actually, pointers) to query/ locate targets displayed on the radar screen. I didn't realize that WOPR came from a ...

Re: QV-1000C diskettes
'Video floppy disk' seems to be the correct name for these things. I'm surprised to see that they're still available on eBay and elsewhere on the web. As far as I can tell (please correct me if I'm wrong) these disks are commonly labelled 'MP-50'. I think these are the same as Canon's VF-50 and Nik...

Hi, All the rest of my questions can probably be answered from the manual and a couple of sample photos from the thing. ;) I looked at that diskette, and it *looks* like what my wetware thinks is what I have packed away with a bunch of other ancient and oddball media. The shot on the Nikon site isn'...

Hi, I think you've used the best method of digitizing the images from the little guy. Use the yellow-ended cable, since that's the video one. The red and white are audio cables, and might not provide as clean a signal to the video capture card. Sometime, when you get a chance, shoot a couple pix of ...

Hi, So, maybe it's a 'Quasi-Video 1000 Camera'? :P It would seem to me that 'camera' is rather redundant when most any fool can see that it's a camera. However, marketing does like to accent the obvious, so it might well be so. :P I know from many years of experience that *no one* puts together a Fr...
